The Prism // Collective Documentation of Greece

The Prism began with a simple idea: “To record the Greek reality during the historic turning point of Winter 2010/11, while experimenting with a new model of collaborative film-making”.

Bringing together 14 Greek photojournalists, prominent Greek musicians and other collaborators, Nikos Katsaounis, Nina Maria Paschalidou and their team have directed 27 short “multimedia stories”, many of which are stunning.

Covering Greek tradition, history, immigration, music, youth revolt, business and religion, among many other themes, the films are successful in providing not only a snapshot of Greece and surrounding issues during this “historic turning point”, but also provide insight, provoke questions and resonate sociologically through telling relatively simple stories.

These films are essential for anyone interested in looking beyond the news media’s shallow obsession with the financial condition of the region and seeing the real state of Greece right now.
