Olafur Eliasson // Your Rainbow Panorama

Sitting atop Aarhus’s ARoS art museum is Olafur Eliasson’s Your Rainbow Panorama. Opening a couple of months ago, the circular construction took over 5 years to complete, from inception to the final polish of the coloured glass.

I haven’t been yet, but I imagine that not only does the visitor experience the mad surrounding Aarhus architecture from an altered circumspective, but their movements along the circular walkway must be charted by those peering from below in a colour-shift spectral arc. The spectator is very much treated as taking part in the artwork’s effect in many of Eliasson‘s works (as quite clearly explied by the inclusion of the word ‘Your’ in many of their titles [cf. ‘Your atmospheric colour atlas‘ and ‘Your chance encounter‘] ).

If you visit soon, you can also catch an exhibition of several of Eliasson’s smaller installations. Quite beautiful, and definitely one for a long weekend.

Any thoughts?
