NonClassical // Cello Multitracks / Peter Gregson / Gabriel Prokofiev / Home Loner / G.S.D.

To support the release of Gabriel Prokofiev and Peter Gregson’s Cello Multitracks album which comes out on Monday, there will be a launch party in London tomorrow. Details here.

The album collects 4 cello compositions by Gabriel Prokofiev, performed by Peter Gregson, alongside 12 remixes. The pieces were composed for 9 cellos, or really 9 layers of cello, with Gregson playing all the parts. The remixes were given the individual cello tracks and asked to only use material from those tracks, nothing else.

Among the remixers is Home Loner, whose debut solo composition helms the Hydro-Acoustics album out on The Association for Depth Sound Recordings.

I was asked to do a remix for the album myself, but unfortunately my dark ambient monster didn’t make the cut. Listen to my effort below:

Any thoughts?
