Mr Shillinglaw opens his charcuteric collexxion of a solo exhibition tomorrow at London’s Stolenspace Gallery, off Brick Lane. This is a serious coup for an artist who has been tap-dancing on the fringes of contemporary pop-psychedelia for some time, and hopefully this show will continue to provide David with the exposure his bright and playful artwork deserves.

Everything is for sale, from painted American football helmets to embellished iron signage, and David’s artwork has even been animated to feature in the film playing on the sideboard-with-inbuilt-TV, always featuring the signature DS blue. I had a sneak peek at the exhibition tonight, and it should not be missed (on until 6th May).

This must be one of David’s most productive and prolific periods to date, with countless projects on the go at once, painting a huge mural under the Westway, including a new print out with Scream editions (offshoot of the admittedly questionable Scream gallery owned by Jamie Wood)  and an imminent trip to THE GAMBIA, so catch him MAXING and EXPLAINING below:
