Sebastião Salgado // Serra Pelada / Polka Galerie

Taken in 1986, Sebastião Salgado’s photograph of an army of goldminers in Brazil’s Serra Pelada is one of the most stunning I have ever seen. In some ways quite dissimilar to a lot of his other work which often depicts natural beauty, I find his images of man’s experience on earth the most beautiful.

Following a hugely successful exhibition at London’s Natural History Museum, a selection of Salgado’s work will go on display at Polka Galerie, Paris, from tomorrow, until the 18th of January.
