In The Bazaars Of Srinagar, Chuddar Clad Women Speak Of Foreigner In Their Midst‘ is perhaps one of my favourite Muslimgauze songs, released several years after his death on the Iranair Inflight Magazine album.

The Vinyl On Demand label are putting out a 10-LP box set of the pretty much the first 10 (and long out of print) LPs of the late Muslimgauze’s prolific career. Producing over 100 albums between 1982 and his death in 1999 (with a further 100 having being released [and re-released] since his death in 1999, Bryn Jones has inspired countless electronic musicians but I would say only in the past 5 years or so has his influence been acknowledged or admitted.

The box-set can be pre-ordered / purchased (for me!?) here, with many more re-releases on the Staalplaat label here and elsewhere.

A shame the Iranian Female Olympic Table Tennis Team Theme album, featuring an actual ping pong bat, is sold out. Check out Mr Jones’ full and extensive sonography here.

Any thoughts?
