Trevor Jackson // Format / 1 Album 12 Formats

Trevor Jackson is perhaps best known as a music producer and DJ, but has also been behind the design of some iconic album artwork sleeves, including those of his label Output which he says he started “as much to put out music as to design sleeves“.

His next project is probably his most ambitious, releasing a 12-track album across 12 formats, with 1 track on each format. Since I love a bit of MiniDiscâ„¢, this got me excited. The formats used are: 12-inch, 10-inch and 7-inch vinyl, CD, mini CD, cassette, USB, VHS, MiniDisc, DAT, 8-track and reel-to-reel. Obviously the reel-to-reel will be a big seller.

The project is being launched at the Brewer Street carpark in London next week, with an accompanying audio-visual installation of some sort. More (or less?) info here, and catch an annoyingly-interrupted teaser track below:
